Heart Paper Cast Handmade Ornament

The Saffron Guild specialises in creating beautiful paper casts from a collection of historic vintage European baking moulds. The decorative art paper casts are hand-pressed in the moulds, then painted with pigmented beeswax and gold or silver gilding. Each piece is unique, and every heart delivers a new vista of old-world beauty. Many of the moulds were originally carved over 200 years ago, including some rare ones.  

The process: Paper-clay (recycled paper), once dried in the vintage mould, forms a stiff, durable and beautifully detailed piece that is painted in a high-resin (non-tacky) pigmented beeswax, polished to a soft Lustre then painted with gold or silver gilding. Impressions add a beautiful touch of colour and charm to table settings, tucked on bookshelves, displayed in wall clusters or as a gift tag on a present.

Each heart paper cast is 14cm high with a satin ribbon hanger (various colours).
